About Lemoncraft Studio

We're a small, fully remote team of designers and developers who care deeply about quality. We craft high-end product experiences and strive to deliver maximum value to our clients and their customers.

What you'll be doing

You'll be working on a Laravel 11 app that's been actively worked on for five years. We're big fans of the Laravel ecosystem and use all the good stuff it comes with.

  • Design and optimize MySQL database schemas with a focus on data integrity, performance, and scalability.
  • Implement business logic with attention to security and long-term maintainability.
  • Architect and maintain robust RESTful APIs that support our Vue.js frontend.
  • Ensure high code quality through testing and solid error handling.
  • Collaborate closely with the frontend team for smoother iterations and knowledge sharing.
  • Bonus points if you're curious and experiment with new technologies and suggest improvements that enhance system performance and maintainability.

How we work

We keep our process simple. Tasks live in Linear, quick communication is via Slack, code's on GitHub, and we handle everything through pull requests. We try to avoid unnecessary meetings and prefer async communication. You can work whenever works for you, as long as things get done on time.

This probably isn't for you if

  • You need constant direction. Since we are a small team, we don't have time to micromanage.
  • You don't work well independently. You'll be trusted to own your work and your mistakes (we're all human).
  • You've got a big ego. We follow data and feedback, not personal opinions.

Contract position (with room to grow)

This is a contract role to start averaging about 3-4 hours per day, but if things go well and there's enough work, it could turn into something more long-term.

Our hiring process

We like to keep things simple and wrap everything up within a week. Here are our steps:

  • Portfolio review: We'll start by checking out your work. If it looks like a good match, we'll move to step 2.
  • Short intro chat: A quick 30-minute call to get to know each other, talk through the role, and answer any questions.
  • Paid test project: If the chat goes well, we'll send over a small, real-world task. You'll be compensated for your time.
  • Technical interview: If we are happy with the test project, we'll move to a technical interview to discuss your experience and skills.
  • Wrap-up: After the technical interview, we'll either:
    • Send a confirmation email with compensation details and book a final chat to talk next steps, or
    • Send you thoughtful feedback on what could be improved and why we're not moving forward.

That's it! Just a friendly way to figure out if we're a good fit.

How to apply

Sound like a good fit? Awesome, we love to hear from you! Just send us:

  • A quick intro about you (who you are, what you've worked on)
  • A link to your portfolio, GitHub, or anything else you're proud of
  • Your availability

Send it over to hello@lemoncraft.studio with the subject line 'Laravel Developer – Application' and we'll get back to you as soon as we can!
